The Savior
God, Creator of heaven and earth,
Became a man by infant birth.
His reason was to show His love,
In ways He could not from above.
His love He showed through healing hands;
Hands that made blind eyes to see;
Hands that set the captive free.
Healing hands, but now we see,
Hands that brought such joy and peace,
Are nailed in anger to the tree.
And now, as blood is flowing down,
“Forgive them Father,” His voice sounds.
Why this death and why this pain?
Has His whole life been lived in vain?
NO!
Is heavenly Father’s cry!
“It is for you He came to die.
You—your sins had blocked the way;
Your sins He took on Himself that day.”
By faith, you’re free,
Your life is clear.
You are a child, to the Father dear.
On day He will return and say,
“Well done my friend, with me you’ll stay.”
