Isaiah 41:13 New International Version (NIV)
13″For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.”
I thought that I would begin with a bible verse today and a picture that illustrates what happens when we let go of God for whatever reason. Or perhaps we may feel that God has let go of us and that we are on our own.
But first, let me relate a story about me and quicksand. By the way, quicksand is not all that quick. Several years ago, I was fly-fishing in a small stream in central Wisconsin. As I made my way up the stream, I encountered a muddy bottom. I found myself gradually sinking deeper and deeper into it until I realized that if I took another step that I would most likely become trapped. I lunged for all my worth to get to the bank. As you can tell, I made it. That experience was truly a hopeless one because I was alone with no one there to help me.
The reason behind my story is that we sometimes find ourselves so mired in the ‘muck of life” that we see no way out. While there was no one there to help me, there is someone who is always available to help us. We all know who that someone is – God!
Think of the beginning verse – even when we let go, He does not! Even when we withdraw our hand, He does not withdraw His!
May you always remember that you are in His grip!

Thanks – 1 John 3:19-20 New International Version (NIV)
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.
